Paid for app then updated and now have to pay again

by Pwbiz · May 15, 2025

I paid for this app 10+ years ago and then made the mistake of updating the app. The old app wouldn’t keep the statistics and I hoped the update would. Developer says I have to send them my 10 year old purchase receipt to restore thread free but where do I get that from? Now I have to pay 9.99 a year for ad free.

Now with ads

The latest update now mucks the interface and introduces annoying, distracting ads at the bottom of the game. The nice, clean playing experience is gone.

After 15 years - they screw it up

Been playing this for 15 years. All fun. No updates. Now, the jerks decide to blast ads all over the place to distract you from playing, so they can milk this cash cow! Not that their “engineers” had to invest any time to change anything else in the game - it’s been unchanged since I got it. It will take me 10 mins to program my own version. Screw them. I’m deleting this right now!

Money grubbers

This used to be a good program. Now without an ongoing subscription they stop play for intrusive ads regularly. Not like this has active development (outside serving their greedy selves)

Not happy

What happened to this app in the latest update? It’s full of ads, and it stinks. I’m very unhappy.

Nothing good lasts…

I had loved this app for over 10 years. During that time, it was, as promised, a perfect mobile experience of the classic Minecraft game. Now, they’ve suddenly updated the app, ruining the aesthetic, messing with the menu options, and adding strange flagging behavior when tapping numbers. Also they’ve put in advertising and paid unlocks. The developers have abandoned their vision of bringing classic Minesweeper to mobile and are trying to scrape a dollar out of their long time users. It’s a disrespectful strategy. I’m deleting the app.

Already paid and now have to pay again?

I paid for no add son this game years ago and now because of one update it requires me to pay 10$ a year to access what I already paid for. This update is bull**** and is an immediate delete. There are hundreds of other minesweeper games download literally any other. Minesweeper has never been worth 10$ no matter how much “added features”. Added features that we already had access to previously.

I paid for this, now they want more? Word extortion seems applicable

I PAID for this in 2019 and now they’re demanding a monthly fee to keep it “free”? It wasn’t free! The absolute AUDACITY! Now if they wanted to switch to a monthly fee then I can understand it PROVIDED they grandfather their PAYING CUSTOMERS. God I’m so mad and disgusted with this
