The American-Heritage-Dictionary for me fulfills my literacy requirement for in depth analysis and rich elucidation about all things lexicological. Many impossible to express thanks!

To Whom It May Concern:<br/><br/>I just recently bought this dic•tion•ar•y (2 or 3 days ago). Today it asks me to download a new version and also when I open it there is a message that says: “Total Failure”.<br/>Should I have to pay again for download a new version?<br/>This dictionary was very expensive it cost 30 dollars.<br/>Please help. <br/><br/>I will appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.<br/><br/>Thanks.

I think it is absolutely inexcusable that this company would be so concerned about their precious data that they would spam paying customers with messages that they are software thieves. I know that the messages were due to a bug, but the fact is that they knew or should have known that there could be flaws in their thievery detecting code, and yet they weighed the cost of thievery versus the cost of angry customers spammed with spurious messages and chose wrong! I was traveling in Europe when I started getting these messages and initially panicked, thinking that my phone had somehow been hacked. I stopped using the phone until I could get to a place where I could do a Google search to get more details on this. Whoever had the brilliant idea to add this &quot;protection&quot; to their application should be summarily dismissed. I also think the company needs to do a whole lot more in terms of restitution than just post an update to fix the problem.

Thanks for the update, I thought I lost this app, though I could run it on my iPod touch 4th, But I want it on my iPhone and my brand new iPad air2 thanks loads guys. This is one of the best dictionaries in the AppStore, the other dictionary(Roget's) is vey useful too.

I bought this years back at a considerable cost (39.9$) and couple of years later they stopped updating in App Store. As a result all the dictionaries by Enfour, of which I actually bought quite a few, stopped working on new iOS. Then they would start selling the same title at a higher price. So, as a verified buyer, before you decide to buy, think twice. BTW, they do have a tech support: it’s one man shop I guess.<br/>just received an answer from the developer claiming they have regularly updated their products. I pulled back one of the titles I bought Rogets II Thesaurus, and as of now it requires an update which is not available unless you buy it again @$6.99. ( I wish I could upload the screenshot to this rating) My American Heritage deluxe version stopped working at least 3years ago due to its lack of update and ergo incompatibility with the new iOS.<br/>So i stand by my claim and urge buyers be aware of Enfour products: they are expensive, they don’t update forcing you to buy a new version and yes, their tech support is one man show at least in the past few years.

I have had this app for years. I use it almost on a daily basis. I cannot recollect a single time where I have not been completely satisfied with the definitions I have found. This is truly a tool for increasing our understanding of the world and I am deeply grateful to the makers of this app.

I'm so pleased there was an update and this app didn't become obsolete on my phone. I nearly gave up hope.
