This is Excellent and really handy

by QreusJorj · January 7, 2009

If you are a boater or surfer as I am this is a GREAT tool to have. I'm always asking people what the tide times are, this will be easy to check right before I hit the water. I love how you can scroll through and get the future and past data visually and instantly. It's also handy for planning dives as outgoing tide produces clearer water. The options work great and it has never crashed on me! Gotta love that. Totally worth the money.

Data incorrect

by spoilednomad · August 16, 2009

Waste of money! Bought this Portsmouth, UK. This app shows High Water at Portsmouth on Sun Aug.16 at 08:18 am (3.9 m). In reality, it was at 07:41 am (3.8 m) (source: UK Hydrographic Office). Had I relied on this app alone, you could probably find my boat charted as a wreck on some recent chart by now. Don't buy it!

Consistently Inaccurate Tidal and Sunrise/Sunset Predictions

by mfern93 · June 13, 2009

I checked data provided by the app for various locations in CONUS and the Bahamas, and compared the data with corresponding predictions in various official publications. All data provided by the app for both low/high tide and sunrise/sunset were significantly off -- e.g., high/low tide times were off by 20 to 45 mins; tidal levels were off by +/- 0.1-0.2 feet; sunrise/sunset times were off by 1-2 minutes. Other reviewers have noted the same problem with this app. Fix these problems and the app gets 5 stars. Otherwise, the app is UNRELIABLE. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM

This app is a must for all boaters. It's easy to use, extremely accurate and the graphics are great. Well done!

Doesn't have any locations in SE Florida, the sportfishing capital of the world!

confused

by Rosie1956 · February 1, 2009

I am confused on what I am finding on the application, it says you are suppose to be able to look out a year on the data option, but it shows only a week, just like the graph. Am I missing something? I like the look of app so far but I was hoping to see out further than a week. I also agree with one of the posters that the information is wrong. I live in Oregon and and looking at the tides by our local Oregon coast guides, the information is off by an hour at the same location and at least 1 foot, if you look at Youngs Bay, Astoria, your information shows a low tide on Feb 7, 2009 at 4:48 PM at 0.1 and my local information shows Low 5:56 PM -0.9, that is a whole foot. That is far too much of a difference to even be considered accurate. I didn't like the free apps navigation, but at least it was accurate. If I can't depend on the information it is useless as far as I am concerned. I use the tides to go clamming on the coast and foot difference is huge!! I don't appreciate that I have wasted $4.99 on this app. Please fix these errors so I can give a better review.

Please add NH and north shore of MA. Glochester,Rockport, Newburyport and Portsmouth are locations that should be added.
