Yes, it took the developer a long time to update, but it was worth the wait because this is and has always been my most used app. <br/><br/>People have said that the developer doesn't answer support emails, and that is completely untrue! I've emailed him back and forth many times and he always answers immediately. <br/><br/>This App does amazing things that no other app does and it is, in my opinion, the best app in the App Store.

This app is pretty good VNC-like. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually work with VNC screen sharing that comes with Macs out of the box. Remotetap needs a special software installed, which is rather annoying. It should do both VNC and it's own special server. Also, remotetap doesn't really work on iPads except with mini resolution.<br/><br/>The part that is most annoying about remote tap is that it suffers from connectivity problems. If it does and can't find a connection, I haven't found anything except giving up.

For those of you having issues you have to forward port requests to your local computer if you're behind a router, you should be able to do that. If you have a static IP address, you can just use IP address, for dynamic IPs, like mine, i use the free dyndns service to make an easy to remember URL that sends to my router's IP to their server which in turn updates my URL to reflect the change... Then the router simply forwards the request to my iMac. You can control multiple screens as well, launch apps using the dock, use a zoom in feature (tap and hold) to select small items like menu bar traffic lights to close windows... a keyboard with extra features like command, option, etc...<br/><br/>I've gotten this to work on my local network and remotely over 3G/Edge and also over WiFi from remote locations. My only gripe so far is that it should be updated for Retina Display and also the way pinch to zoom works a little strangely... It doesn't zoom in/out in the location where you pinch, rather it seems to zoom in/out from the top left of the screen? I'd rather have it zoom in how you would zoom into a photo or within Safari.

The app works nicely and it's worth its money. I'll update this review and give it a five star when it will be updated as an universal app.

I think you should update the app for iPad

This is a really slick VNC implementation. The &quot;magnifying glass&quot; feature in particular is innovative and very, very handy. It handles display scaling and multiple monitors well, and is quick even on a decent 3G connection. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, the app appears to be abandoned. The toolbar glitch hasn't gotten a fix, it doesn't support the retina display or iPad, the support forum on the site has been &quot;coming soon&quot;'for a year and a half, and tech support e-mails go unanswered. <br/><br/>It's a real shame. This could be the best remote control app available if the authors would support it or sell it to someone who can. I'm still using it for now, but can't really recommend it.

The developer pretty much vanished and never updated us. Like the other reviewer, I had to pay money for some other software and jump ship. For fun I just tested remote tap and it does not jump to spaces that are movies/full screen apps like safari using the spaces shortcut. Resolution and detail are really bad as well. My recommendation is to not get hipped like the rest of us did.<br/><br/>Jun 2010 Review: App crashes and does not work correctly on IOS4. The screen colors are all blurred. Emailed developer asking about update, but no response and no news on their website of an update in the works. They had plenty of time with the IOS4 beta and being a remote connection app, one would think they would update it promptly or give us some news. Save your cash.

Update: the iPhone 5 support is nice for full screen, but the quality of the remote Mac is terrible. Other programs like splash top are better because they use the retina display in the iPhone.<br/><br/>While the recent update fixed some bugs it didn't change a lot for me. The APP is great for pre-iPhone 4 users, but without retina display support it is not great for those with the newest iPhone. Also no iPad version. Biggest concern is the long wait for any upgrade. This App has features other do not and I love that, but until there is an iPhone 4 and iPad savvy version, I say hold off.
