8 of 20This app will not teach you anything except words, no sentence patterns, no verbs, no explanations. I only bought this because it was recommended to me and I was told it was 0.99 and then to find out it was 9.99?!!! Definitely NOT worth it
Just needs some polish here and there. A verb section would be nice (to do, to go, to see…)

Maybe a little work with sentence structure, but you can only have so much. Definitely good for supplement, but not for beginners who do not know how to form a correct sentence.
Can you let us be able to copy and paste from our iPod or iPad? It would make things easier.
To the developer: please make sure the audio quality in the voice pronounciation is clear/loud and please offer both male & female voiceover because some native female voiceovers are aweful in other language learning software.
I agree with the first poster. This is (perhaps) a great tool for intermediate/advanced students of Japanese, but what about beginners? It would be great if there was at least an option to toggle either furigana or even better, romaji, so that we could actually READ the Japanese text. I'll change my rating as soon as that option is added! PS. it IS nice to see a Japanese app here, though. edit: it's nice to see developers listening to feedback and adding features like this. Thanks!
I like the flashcard type of study and use it in learning projects frequently. My main concern with this program is the complete lack of organization in the word lists. How many people studying beginning Japanese will need to know the name for Honduras?! WfS
Lots of free app updates provided over the years - thanks and keep up the good work!
Overall it's an ok program. Great user interface. I love the custom study lists. The quiz functions are very effective. This program should focus on building vocab though, which it does. But it is defeated by it's lack of college japanese vocab. Centering on that would greatly increase desirability among students. I suggest matching the vocab lists to popular highschool and college text books such as なかま.

Until then this remains a subpar app.

Try Kotoba Human Japanese and i-kanji touch much better for the same price. Also Learn 日本語 Is an awesome free app
