8 of 25Let's start with the good. The user interface on iphone application is excellent. Simple, relatively easy to navigate, and most importantly easy to jump in and use right away for even a novice user. At the same time, there is significant complexity here for someone who wants to have a fairly robust task management application on their iphone. The mac desktop client [available from the developers website for $19.99] is also quite good looking, and even easier to use than the iphone version. The interface looks a lot like a combination of the native mac mail and ical applications, and seems to function similarly. I would say the desktop application and iphone/ipad applications would have been a must have application set, and well worth the additional cash for the desktop application... HOWEVER, if you intend to use the sync feature between more than one device...you had better think again! I can see in these reviews that as early as June 16th, 2010 end users began reporting data loss, and especially random changes in the due dates you assign to tasks when you use the sync features. Currently it's November 23rd, 2010 [more than 5 months later], and as a very computer savvy end user I can assure you that these problems are genuine, and essentially render the application useless if you use due dates in your tasks, and intend to sync the data to another device. These errors occur when using both the local area Wi-Fi sync feature, as well as the online sync option. If you look at the revision date of the application, you will see that the latest revision was April 23rd, 2010...so it's actually been 7 months at this time since an update. Keep in mind that ALL applications have some bugs, however, I'm very worried by how long this sync issue has been apparently unresolved...particularly because of how integral it is to the functioning of the application for the multi-device user. I submitted a support request to the developer, and hope it will be fixed because otherwise this is a fantastic application set...in fact, if it functioned well I would seriously consider making it mandatory software on all my company iphones, and happily buy the companion desktop application for all my staff computers. I will certainly update my review and provide a more thorough evaluation of the remainder of the features if an update is released. I would recommend anyone interested in this application pay close attention to the revision date, and if it's not updated in the next few months, this application's development may have been put on hold for some reason.
I've used Evernote and TaskPaper - trying to sync my tasks and todos - One of my major requirements was a system that allowed me to edit on one device and sync across all of them Evernote does not allow editing of todo lists on the iPad or iPhone version due to the lack of Rich Text support on those devices Taskpaper is a little hard to use, and there is no iPad version EasyTask is the only app that allows editing and syncing across my Mac, iPad and iPhone (yes, I'm a fanboy, get over it :) It comes with a few syncing issues (sometimes the sync does not work, once it deleted a task ... yikes!) Also, it does not automatically sync - you have to tell your ipad or iphone or desktop app to "Sync" - would love to see an "auto sync" option once a task is edited/created A few minor usability issues, but overall, it does wat i need it to do
I have been using this program for almost a year. It has been a great way for me to keep my lists with me. I also like that I can sync between my pc at work and my Mac at home. (the mac program is way better) there is room for improvement and I hope the company is working on that. But so far the programs have allowed me to fit gtd electronically into my life.
A lot like Things, and that is high praise. What this has over that wonderful program is that it syncs to the cloud and thus to all machines you have. That's terrific and I've switched.
Power hidden behind simplicity. This app is just what I was looking for. It's the perfect task manager for those of us who have a busy life but yet don't need another calendar app or a full scale project management app. Try it you'll be happy!
Well done but it is somewhat cumbersome to enter tasks quickly. It would be great if you could create a context and/or project as you're setting up a task rather than having to exit the task. Never figured out the inbox folder and what it's for. Dashboard should show an "all tasks" folder for that view - anything due 8+ days can't be accessed from the Dashboard (why folks say "tasks disappear") and are currently only accessible via the projects or contexts tab - not intuitive to find a specific task when you're handling many projects/contexts.
I'm looking for a simple program that will allow me to set up recurring actions (both daily & weekly). The only way I could set recurring actions was by buying the PC version & sync'ing it to my iPhone. That wasn't really a big deal, except that EVERY TIME I marked a recurring action done, it marked it done completely instead of creating the next recurrence. The PC version could also supposedly be sync'd with Outlook, but it deleted those actions as well. The link to the online help didn't work (simply said that it wasn't available at this time). I tried e-mailing customer support & they never responded. A waste of time & money.
Great app for tasks
